Who's on This Halloween Shirt?

Updated: See video at the bottom!

Well, according to the little guy, it's DADDY! He started saying it as soon as he first saw the shirt!

Yeah....I can see why he thinks that!

Black and Orange: More Than Just Team Colors

Emily2 and Jack invited us over yesterday for the 2nd annual Halloween gathering and we had so much fun that we managed to forget we'd been out of town for the 1st annual one last year. I mean, come on, who doesn't like to hold a bus while going down a slide with a headless bear costume and only one sock? That's the LIFE!

Here are the 8 little people-- not a ghost or ghoul in sight! (I cropped the picture this way so you can see the turtle shell sitting on the back right. Brenna made--from scratch with no pattern--the most awesome costume for Amedeo! The shell tied on to the green fleece suit he's wearing. It was SO COOL!!):

(Amedeo, Brooks, Cadence, Colin, Jack, Jillian, Jocelyn)

Now, here's the behind-the-scenes look at what was going on during this picture-taking bonanza. Notice how B is standing up?

Wait, wait....where is he going?

BUSTED! He snagged himself a cupcake off the high table next to the couch and quickly had to hand it over!

After the posing session, someone stripped down to regain his cool. The feet-up driving position helps, right?

I guess I should've let him have that (2nd) cupcake. I mean, read his shirt for crying out loud:

What's amazing is that he actually ate more than just sweets-- yes, that's a cucumber in his hand and it wasn't his only one! He also ate several carrots!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN WEEKEND FROM A (future Baylor) BEAR AND HIS POINTY-HEADED MAMA!!!

"She's the One!"

Yesterday was a yucky sorta day, weather-wise, so we decided to wear sweats all day and lay low...at least until the big guy got to come home early! All after-school activities were canceled so the school could host a swine-flu vaccination clinic so he was home many hours before the usual time. The boys explored the great outdoors and had all kinds of giggles...and then settled down to the important business of looking at photo albums, one of B's fave activities. I thought he was going to point out his Opa or Grammie whom he just left, but he seemed really intent on that favorite Seattle auntie of his instead:

AKH(G)-- I think it's time for a visit!

Escape!

(from parenthood, that is!)

The B-man stayed in Waco with Opa and Grammie Saturday night (THANKS, O&G!!) while I came back to Dallas and took Lindsay as my date to our friend Nina's wedding. It was a beautiful evening and we had such fun being out on the town and catching up with a nice contingent of Baylor Zetas. I'm not sure when WE became the old ladies, but we definitely were at this particular shindig!

...the more things change, the more they stay the same.

You've already drooled over the pic of my 2nd annual Homecoming meal at Ninfa's and the flashback to last year's. Here are some other comparisons from our fun weekend:

Back...With a Baylor Bonus!

My return to the land of internet was a day earlier than I first thought, so you'll just have to wait on proverbial pins and needles for the day when I reveal what was to be automatically posted tomorrow...

Much more pressing is what we've been up to this week. Monday, there was a Grammie/Grandma handoff in Waco, which is roughly halfway between Dallas and Dripping Springs. Sarah and the 2 younger kids came along for the ride and we let the young'uns loose on the Baylor campus to get out some energy.

Of course we had to check out the bears!!!

And stand by the best-named dorm:

And, most importantly, pay homage to B's namesake:

Looks a little bit different than he did in July 2008!!

Little G is Getting Old!

This post is brought to you by the amazing posting-in-advance feature! As you read this, I am spending time in the land that knows no internet (ie Grandma's house). Since I can not bear to leave you with nothing to read, I will be leaving random blogging treasures for you over the next few days....

We were SO excited to be in town for Grant's first birthday celebration on Saturday!! Linds and Jason planned a wonderful breakfast for their family and allowed us to sneak in...which is a bit hard with a toddler who wanted to spend the whole time escaping to the water. Oh, did I not mention we were on the lake? Fabulous!

A mighty fine self-portrait if I do say so myself:

So excited!!

It's a bit blurry, but this pic cracks me up. G doesn't seem too keen on B the ham!

But maybe that's because someone kept trying to be a cake thief!

So we banned him to the joys of G's new ball-popper!!!

Happy (late) birthday, crazy man!!!

Friday: Family, Firetruck, and Fran

Friday morning, my fabulous cousin Paula invited us to accompany her and the littler of her two kiddos to the bigger kid's school for the crowning event of Fire Safety Week: a visit from a firetruck!!! Before the action got started, B practiced his ballet moves:

It's coming!!!

Before the schoolchildren came outside, B got quite the VIP treatment from the firefighters:

They even demonstrated the ladder! A firefighter walked all the way to the highest point and took pics of the crowd below! (I, unfortunately, did not have my camera with me for that!):

After all the excitement, the second cousins played together and K was introduced to the wonder that is the guh-buh:

And then, later in the evening, I met Fran for a stuffing-our-faces-with Mexican-food-extravaganza!!!

Pretty soon, B will be the same age Fran and I were when we first met in preschool!
